The external directors’ club is a joint venture of the Ackerman Center for Corporate Governance and the Israeli Directors Union. The club’s main goal is to develop and to nurture the professionalism of external directors in Israeli public companies. Another goal is to provide mutual support and to serve as a platform for open discussion between external directors, who occasionally find themselves “lonely”. Finally, we aim at creating a professional and unified body that will represent the external directors and protect their interest in the Knesent (Israeli parliament), in the Israeli Securities Authority and in the media, who sometimes have exaggerated demands and expectations from the external directors.
