Prof. Emeritus Beni Lauterbach
Prof. Lauterbach served as the Chairman of the Ackerman Center for Israeli Corporate Governenace in 2011-2022.
Prof. Lauterbach has a PhD in Finance from the University of Chicago, one of America's most esteemed universities, graduating in 1986. He joined the Graduate School of Business Administration in 1988 and in 2010-2011 he served as the school's Dean and Chairman.
His main research interests include Corporate Control and Social Responsibility, Financial Markets’ Microstructure, and Asset Pricing.
Prof. Lauterbach has gained wide international professional recognition, publishing more than 60 papers in scientific journals, including several publications in the top three journals in Finance (Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies). In addition, he regularly presents at international conferences, and is a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
Beyond his academic work, he served about 25 years in various institutional investors’ Investment Committees, including 7 years as Chairman of the Investment Committee of Clal Provident Funds, responsible for assets of over $10 billion. Prof. Lauterbach is also a former member of the Advisory Board for Maala – Israel's leading organization for social responsibility.
